Meet The Blogger
Hi, I am Samantha! I am currently a second-year college student studying Sports Management. I have loved sports from a young age, thanks to my dad. Growing up, I played soccer, volleyball and basketball along with swimming, but I was mostly dedicated to volleyball. Eventually, I stopped playing sports since I had a few injuries and issues that I could not keep up with physically. But that does not mean my love for sports went away. Growing up, hockey and baseball were the main sports in my family. I did not grow up a die-hard Leafs fan like most of the people I know in Toronto who did. I grew up a Chicago fan due to their winning style and also because of Jonathan Toews. As I got older, my love for other sports expanded. I was watching racing (Formula 1 and their junior categories, along with some Indycar), lacrosse, wrestling, and many more sports. In several of my sports classes, we are told that we are not "hockey business professionals"; instead, we are sports business professionals.
This blog started in my grade ten year as a hockey blog originally. But because I kept finding myself drawn to other sports, I decided to turn it into a sports blog. I hope you enjoy the posts I have written and I am always open to collaborating with other writers, constructive criticism and support. I am not sure if journalism is something I want to do in the future, but right now it is a pretty fun hobby to have.
